FAQ's

Q: What is therapy anyway?

A: Therapy is not just a way to overcome difficult experiences life has thrown at you. It is also a way to better understand past experiences and how they impact you today. This helps re-frame the way you experience life and respond to stressors in your everyday life.

Q: Will people know I am in therapy?

A: No, everything you share in session is completely confidential. The only exception to this is if you are in immediate danger to yourself or others.

Q: What do I have to do in session?

A: Every person will have a different treatment plan and goal for their own course of treatment. We will work together to figure out barriers to achieving your goals. You will be in control of the pace of treatment and are the expert of your experiences, past and present.

Q: Do I have to take medication?

A: This depends on the person. Taking medication can help manage anxiety and/or depression. Medications are not always required, but can be recommended to assist with managing daily and life stressors.

Q: How do I know therapy is working?

A: Sometimes, things will feel hard before they feel better. I will provide a safe and comfortable space to share and will work at your pace.

Q: How do I pay for sessions?

A: Currently, I have a self-pay schedule. However, this can be assessed on a case-by-case basis. I also accept select insurance through Headway (Oscar, Oxford, United Health Care, Cigna, Aetna). Self-pay or co-payments are due the date services are rendered.
